Almost 53% of around eight lakh citizens practiced their establishment in the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) surveys on Friday, the Assam State Election Commission (ASEC) said.
"No inappropriate episodes like corner catching or comparable survey related savagery occurred and the political race finished calmly," the ASEC said in an articulation. Out of the all out 60 wards of the GMC, applicants in three were chosen unopposed.
Surveying was directed through EVMs without precedent for every one of the 757 surveying stations of the 57 leftover wards.
The assertion said that the provisional generally speaking survey rate in the political decision was 52.80 percent.
The constituent destiny of 197 competitors will be known on April 24 when votes will be counted.
The BJP had handled competitors in 53 seats, out of which three were chosen uncontested. Its partner Asom Gana Parishad challenged in seven wards.
The Congress has set up-and-comers in 54 wards, the Aam Aadmi Party in 38, Assam Jatiya Parishad in 25 and the CPI(M) in four.
Nineteen others, including Independents, are additionally in the conflict.
