State leader Narendra Modi on Thursday delivered a postage stamp and coin during festivities of the 400th Parkash Purab of Guru Tegh Bahadur at Red Fort and said that the nation is pushing ahead with full commitment on the beliefs of the Gurus.

"This program during the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav has extraordinary importance," he said. Red Fort is situated close to Gurdwara Sis Ganj, where the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur was guillotined in November 1675 on the request for Mughal ruler Aurangzeb.
The Prime Minister said that the Red Fort has been observer to a few vital periods of history. "The Red Fort has seen the suffering of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji and furthermore seen the boldness of individuals of this country. Where we are today is a result of the penances of lakhs of political dissidents," he said.
