Things You Must Know Before US traveling

As of today, the US Visa Waiver Program, also known as the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), allows citizens of these 39 countries to enter the US for up to 90 days without a visa. Most of these countries belong to the European Union, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore and a few others.

Your 90 days begin the moment you set foot on US soil, including Hawaii, Puerto Rico and other US territories. Those 90 days in the United States also include time spent in Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, or the Caribbean Islands if arrival was via the United States. ESTA application is required only when arriving by air or cruise ship.

It is not required if entering overland or on local ferries in British Columbia, Canada and Washington State, such as Vancouver. ESTA is valid for up to two years. You can make an unlimited number of trips to the United States as long as each stay is a maximum of 90 days. ESTA is much less expensive than a traditional tourist visa, and a simple application takes only 20 minutes to complete.

You can apply for your ETSA any time before boarding your flight, but it is recommended to do so at least 72 hours before departure.
